Predictive validity

The extent to which the future level of some variable can be predicted by a current measurement of the same or a different variable. Examples include using a person’s current score on the CAT exam to predict his or her future success in postgraduate management program; using a person’s current attitude about a product/brand to predict his or her future purchase of the product/brand.
