Respondent selection error

One of the types of nonsampling errors that may emanate on account of mistake committed by a researcher or an interviewer. This error occurs when interviewer selects respondents other than those specified by the sampling design or in a manner inconsistent with the sampling design. For example, in a readership survey, a nonreader is selected for the interview but classified as a reader of particular journal.
