Stapel scale

One of the types of attitude measurement scales. It is a slight modification of semantic differential scale. The scale consists of a single adjective in the middle of the A self-report technique in which the respondents are asked to indicate how accurately each of a number of statements describes the object of interest by selecting an appropriate numerical response category. It is a unipolar rating scale with 10 categories numbered from –5 to + 5, without a neutral point (zero). The data obtained by using a staple scale can be analyzed in the same way as semantic differential data.
