Strategic intent
A company’s long-range objective that will hold the organization together over a long period while it builds its competitive viability—domestic and international. Although few companies start with such intent, most develop one as they progress toward significant positions. The strategic intent may encompass whether and where a company wants to be a leader, such as dominating domestic market, dominating a regional or global market, or attempting profit results without being the market leader. The strategic intent may also set priorities.
