Infomercial
Lengthy program-length TV commercial (most often 30 minutes) with Web address through which to order the product or request additional information, for a specific good or service that airs on cable television or on broadcast television, often at a fringe time. It is particularly worthwhile for products that benefit from visual demonstrations. Infomercials are designed to provide consumers with detailed information about a product or service. One study found that early adopters, opinion leaders, and active shoppers are more likely to view infomercials than other consumers.
