Storage (information)

The stage in information processing in which individuals organize and reorganize information in long-term memory received from the short-term store. One theory of information storage is that it actually consists of two processes. In one process, information is organized episodically—that is, by the order in which it was acquired in the past. In the other process information is stored semantically—that is, according to the significant concepts. Information storage concept is important to companies because it may help them in developing communication strategies.
