Single-source data collection
It refers to a method of data collection in which a research firm develops a sample of consumer households, determines the demographic and life-style backgrounds of those households through surveys, observes TV-viewing behavior by inhome cable hookups to the firm’s computers, and monitors shopping behavior by having people make purchases in designated stores. Also known as single-source tracking.
