Comparative advantage

The theory that there may still be global efficiency gains from trade if a country specializes in those products that it can produce more efficiently than other products. According to this theory a country will gain if it concentrates its resources on producing the commodities it can produce more efficiently. It then will buy from countries with fewer natural or acquired resources those commodities it has relinquished.
