Just noticeable difference (JND)

The minimal difference that can be detected between stimuli. The consumer will not be able to detect any difference between stimuli below his or her differential threshold. The Just noticeable difference - JND varies not only with (a) the sensitivity of the receptor and (b) the type of stimuli, but also with (c) the absolute intensity of the stimuli being compared.
