Independent warehouse that offers storage and handling facilities to individuals and companies. Public warehousing costs are a variable expense. Customers pay only when they use it. Public warehouses can also provide office and product display space, and accept and fill orders for sellers. Furthermore, a warehouse receipts covering products stored in public warehouses may be used as collateral for bank loans.
