In the context of international marketing, it refers to dovetailing of a product to meet local conditions or wants in foreign markets. Marketing theoritizes as a wrong approach to simply take successful product out of its market of origin and place it directly into a foreign market. Such a direct drop-in may be cheap and easy but final result might be disappointing after all. New launches usually need considering proper adaptation of the original product in accordance with market's specifics.
