Neighborhood Business District (NBD):

Normally used in the context of US but it can be used for other countries too. This is an unplanned shopping area that appeals to the convenience shopping and service needs of a single residential area. The leading retailer is typically a supermarket, a large drugstore, or a variety store and it is situated on the major street(s) of its residential area. It is also sometimes referred to as Neighborhood shopping center. Usually the major anchor store is a supermarket.
